Good News

Just yesterday I was feeling a little down about still being here. In this country.

Today…although I’m tempted not to mention it because I don’t want to jinx it…it started to turn around, again.

Hubby got a call from another co. in Aus wanting an interview with him. We know that this is just the beginning of the process (and in fact we have two more still ‘in the process’ so far – no rejections), and we have long ways to go before he a) accepts a job, and b) accepts a job and we get our visa granted.  But it feels really good to be taking another big leap forwards like this.

It’s that whole one small leap for Hubby is one giant leap for Ness’s mental health yanno? :)   Well not so much my mental health, as my emotional desire to be out of here.

On another good note, I picked up two of my snow photo posters today.  For once my MIL came in handy, as she has a friend who runs a printing business – and they print anything from business cards to wall paper sized things (that’s supposed to indicate huge). Anyhoo, her friend has given me a really good deal if I do business through her.  In fact she liked the posters I designed so much that she asked if she could use them in her marketing – as they’re redoing all their marketing to show people the wide variety of stuff they do and services they offer.

I had designed the photos into a Bob Talbot style poster with a white border, and included wording and my name etc. Oh and if you’ve never heard of Bob Talbot – he is an absolutely awesome photographer, that specialises in dolphin and whale photos. I had two of his works on my walls growing up (which may have actually led to me becoming a photographer) – and anyway – he rocketh like none othereth :)

Anyway, so I was just really chuffed when I collected them, and saw my photos looking all, well, all wonderful! (Pats self on back). I can’t wait to show hubby when he gets home from work. He’s the one who gave me the go ahead to get them printed up to A1 size for our TV room. We’re also going to get them framed of course, I’m thinking a matte silver frame…anyway, just thought I’d share that tidbit with you.

It’s a direction I’m going in with my photography. The poster thing. My next step is to see if I can get a gallery to hold a showing of them. But I may wait until we’re in Aus for that. I’m not sure yet. It does require a certain amount of finesse, and honestly local galleries that I’ve looked at arre only really interested in local Africanesque stuff. Paintings of squatter camps. So *not* what I’m about. I’m all about natures grandeur, horses, and the beauty of nature. Not poverty, dirt and depression. Never mind how topical it is.  Call me anti-establishment, but honestly, why not put something on your walls that’s uplifting for a change??

You can see two samples of similar posters that I’ve made in my zazzle gallery, using those two photos, to get the general idea of what I had done here.

Have I told you how much I love those two photos? I have? Well allow me to tell you again. They’re amazing. And congrats on being asked to have your work appear in marketing campaigns. That’s incredible.

    Wow! Your photograph is beautiful.

I live in the State of Arkansas (northwest region) in the USA. I love reading BLOGS from all over the world. Your site is particularly facinating. I love the stories and the photography. I’m curious – what does “chuffed” mean? :)

    Take care!

Thanks for the explanation on chuffed. It will be my goal to somehow use it in a sentence every day this week! :)

Can’t wait to read your story about Navarre. I’ll get around to posting more stories about my Gus, too.
