Of course it has, and you all know why right?

I’m SO going to get a new ISP THIS week, even it completely kills my monthly budget. I will NOT be offline for the last week of every month. Stamps foot. I won’t. I won’t. I won’t!

So, I’ve been vicariously looking at tv stands, since we’re not buying anything till we get our butts overseas, but it’s so tempting sometimes. Even couches. It doesn’t help that the store I’ve been looking at (pressing my nose up against the virtual glass at their website), also stock the nicest, coolest, comfiest couches known to man. Boy I can’t wait to go and buy all new stuff!!!

So what is up with all of you guys, man, I’ve missed my daily blog walk, it’s become such a part of my life.

Right. I’m off to call that ISP for a new installation, I hope that they can do it really quickly. Like as in, next week. How am I supposed to find myself immersed in Online Degree Programs with not enough bandwidth?

Ladies and Gentlemen (drum roll please)- my first two sets of Photoshop Actions are now available! The third set is currently in development!

Created Fully by my Design Alter Ego “MacNessa” they look like this:

and this:

If you want to purchase them (and I guarantee you they are very reasonably priced), then take a looksee at my pages up top, where it says STORE! If you hover/click on this, you should see ‘EBook’ and ‘PS Actions’ pop up, hover over PS Actions and it will show you the two options either “Web Actions” or “Color Actions”. I’ve given a detailed explanation of what each set does, on it’s page.

I’ve really created these with my heart on my sleeve. I know how lost I was, the first time I opened photoshop, all starry eyed, thinking, this is it. I’ve arrived in Design Mecca. Then spending the next few months pulling my hair out in despair because I didn’t know where to start, and kept buggering up my ‘layers’ etc.

These actions are designed to get you started, give you instant gratification, and persuade you to delve a little deeper and really see what Photoshop has to offer.

So go buy them. Now. (I’m accepting PayPal OR AlertPay)

If you don’t want to go through my menu rigmarole (up top, STORE>PS ACTIONS>) etc, you can just click on either of the graphics above, to take you straight there. How nice am I!?

So go buy them. Now.

Seriously, the Web Actions are like $3, and the color actions are $5, could they *be* any more affordable? Mais Non.

So go buy them. Now.

Oh – and *thanks* to all you awesome guys on facebook who left me the sweetest birthday messages, I was *totally* buzzing today, reading them all, so many of you! While financially things have been tight, and seriously – having a birthday on the 22nd of January – before anyone has recovered from Christmas – or even received their January paycheck yet – and wham it’s my birthday – hubby was really cool.  I knew things would be really tight, so no PS3 or anything drastic on the cards. But tonight he came home from work and presented me with a really cool 500gig external hard drive.

I have been wanting one for ages, so that I can back up all my photos and clear out my hard drive, so I’m really pleased with it. Maybe this year of being ’33′ really will be as good as can be.

Gossip Update: My SIL and her husband have applied for jobs in another city in the UK, and in Australia. Seriously. These people must have the itchiest feet. I just wish for their own sakes they’d settle down. Just hearing about their absurd plans make me tired.

I Love Photos Like This!

Blog Pictures | acobox.com

Do you remember awhile ago, I told you about an awesome service called Acobox? This is one of their images, resized perfectly for blog use, and free to hotlink from. This really is such a handy service to get free blog images when you don’t have an image in your own arsenal for your current blog post, but want to use one. Plus by hotlinking of course you’re not using your bandwidth, or storage space.

This is the kind of image I’d like to have printed out actually, on a stretched canvas, and hung just like that on wall, no frame, just stretched over a wooden frame.  Awesome in a minimalistic room.  Plus, doesn’t it like *really* remind you to moisturize!!?

Wii Fit Rocks!

On January 16, 2009, in Amazon, Health & Beauty, online shopping, by ness

How proud am I of ME right now. I spent 40mins (actually 48 to be precise) on my Wii Fit this morning. That’s the 4th day in a row that I’ve put in a minimum of 30 mins exercise.  It’s not all games, I promise, I’m doing mostly aerobic stuff, and muscle workouts, but I do take breaks and play some of the cool fun games.

Believe it or not, I can really feel a difference already to my abs, quads and arms. Who would have thought that exercise could be fun again.  I actually love weighing myself in the morning, with the fitness test, to watch my little line go down just a scoche more!  I was wondering when Nintendo would bring out an updated version, with new exercises but OMG LOOK WHAT I FOUND AT AMAZON!!! How cool is that!!? I have GOT to get my hands on that ASAP!

Speaking of taking it to the next level. I’ve had some small succes with GI Lean products, have any of you out there tried them before? I’m currently reading about Apidexin, has anyone heard of it? I’m never sure when it comes to diet pills, with my wacky thyroid to consider.

Anyway, I’m just feeling really good today, with the last 4 days hard work. I don’t even feel like I need a break this weekend either, I can’t actually wait to start all over tomorrow.

Yay!

Look to the Trees!

On January 15, 2009, in Amazon, Headcase, Memory, Past Blast, Random Blatherings, by ness

Ok, I’m not losing it (well not entirely), just wildly misquoting Lord of the Rings.

What things in your childhood stand out for you? In terms of your environment? I grew up (mostly) in one house.

The thing I remember a lot about it, was that the street was lined with the most beautiful old Oak trees. They were absolutely huge, and must have been around for a long time. Way more time than some of the houses anyway, although many of them were big old houses, built back when people still took pride in their work.

It was the kind of house, where as a kid I was convinced that if I moved a piece of fretwork on the mantlepiece ‘just so’ that I would discover some kind of secret passage. Or my own private entrance to Narnia!

I also had my very own balcony, from which I could be Rapunzel, and Juliette later on, and onto which my brother who was five years older than me would climb, when he’d accidently locked himself out, after sneaking out in the first place.  Good times!   It was a pretty unique semi-circular balcony, but it had a great view, and I will always remember it.

I remember that we had the most fantastic huge pool, with a diving board! A pool you could actually do lengths in, and really feel like you were getting exercise. The birthday party I had, where we spent most of the time in the pool bobbing for corks which I’d collected for months before. The idea was that you had to collect as many as you could for a prize. Using only your hands – and you’d have to go back and forth.  I remember that there were like prizes for the first five, with the most corks. I was third. I totally expected win a prize, even though it was *my* party. What a brat!

I remember the loquat tree down in the bottom garden that you could climb, and on the limbs of which I sat, completely obscured from view of the house, and had my first cigarette aged 11.  Pinched from my mother’s stash of Courtley 2o’s. I reckon that’s the only way I got away with it too – because my mom smoked at that time, and thus didn’t smell it on me.  Hey I remembered the brand of ciggies my mom used to smoke. Huh funny.

I remember the exact patch of wall where I used to spend hours practicing my tennis swing by punting the ball back and forth. The basketball hoop. The sun room. Our library. The den. The study. The sewing room. The freakishly huge, though harmless rain spiders that would occasionally pay us a visit. Why did they always arrive in twos!?

It’s also the house in that we grew apart as a family. It was so damn huge that we could spend a whole weekend barely seeing one another, each tucked away in our own sections, with our own TVs doing our own thing.

It’s funny isn’t it, the things we remember.

What about your childhood environment do you remember the most?
