The characters who play "Tess" and "Claire" are quite different looking to the ones in the series, as Claire has long straight blonde hair, and Tess is a redhead - but their characters are very similar. Tess is the outgoing, rebellious one, and Claire, the down home country girl raised by her father. BTW the father (Jack McLeod) is played by well known Aussie actor Jack Thompson (who I ended up recognizing from Star Wars!) If you liked the series, you will probably enjoy the movie.
