So I told y’all how I was taking a magnesium supplement the other day right? I have to say, it is definitely making a big difference to how my muscles are reacting to the increased (hah, is it still *increased* when there’s been nothing for a decade?) exercise. Usually I would attempt to start exercising and then would get seized by some middle of the night calf muscle cramp that would have me sit bolt upright in bed, yelping, while my hubby leaps out of bed reaching for a golf club, thinking that we’ve just been broken into. He’s not weird, but we live in Africa, and it’s just how we roll.
Can’t believe I’m laughing about living on the dark continent during these scary political times.
Anyhoo, so I am not plagued by muscle issues, but rather, I’m finding that I’m experiencing a bit of joint pain in my hips. It’s not the ordinary kind where you feel a bit stiff, and it feels really good because you know it’s the kind of stiffness that comes with great exercise. Rather it’s the “clutch my side like an old woman of 85″ kind of pain. I’m just sayin’. Might have been the 20 minutes of hoola-hoopin’ I did on the wii yesterday.
But I’ll get over it.
Ain’t nothin’ going to stop this gal getting thin again. I’m guessing the discomfort will go away as I get stronger again. At any rate it’s not bad enough to warrant any kind of pain meds, and it kind of does feel like some sort of m@sochistic reward.
Yes I’m a bit weird.
