• I have been packing, driving, unpacking and repeating for the last 3 days, tomorrow the big stuff goes, and we sleep at our new place for the first time. The kids are getting a bunk bed, and we’re going to have a ‘big reveal’. The eldest has been asking for a ‘ladder bed’ for *ever* and the youngest one, has been hinting that he’s too big for his cot for the last few weeks, by climbing into his brothers bed, and then pretending to be asleep. So the eldest is on top, the youngest below. Yes, there will be strict rules, involving “You’re up there to sleep, and if you ain’t asleep, you ain’t up there. There will be no jumping, shenanigans or horseplay of any kind that involves the top bunk.” Thus Spake THE LAW.
  • Yesterday I spent more money than I have earned in two months. It involved the purchase of a new fridge (oh gawd I hope it fits in the new house!), a new couch, new curtains, and of course the kids bunk beds, and a new mattress.
  • My mother offered me some of her weight loss pills the other day, and nearly fell over when I told her that I was exercising again (from sheer joy I might add)
  • I have some awesomely huge ideas with regards to my graphic design business, which involve offering downloadable products that can be customized
  • I also became a web hosting provider and am coming up with an all in one ‘get your own piece of blogging real estate’  package where those of you (YOU KNOW WHO I MEAN) who should be blogging on your own domain, can take up my fabbo offer, which comes with domain registration, web hosting, wordpress installation and theme design (yep, am now a one stop shop), and continuing maintenance (wordpress/plugin upgrades etc) as part of the deal.
  • Ugh. I am so tired already with all this packing and shifting, and even have shin splints from the treks through various malls that I did at speed to find the right items (listed above), and yet the husband has had cause to work late nearly every night this week. If he so much as says, “Come on, hurry up!” or “We’ll never get this done at this pace!” to me tomorrow, I may have to kill him.
  • Turns out we will be living diagonally opposite the complex ‘busy-body’ who thinks she owns the place. Luckily our landlord had given us free reign to tell her to p*ss off if necessary, even IF her hubby is the chair of the home owners association.
  • I am working on a redesign of several of my blogs in between working on clients work, so eventually they will one by one all be updated and look swish…if I ever get to them between work that is. (Am grateful for all the work, am grateful for all the work).
  • Okay, that’s it, I’m really pooped. It has nothing to do with the fact that Desperate Housewives is starting…

Friday Afternoon Bullets:

(Because I’m short on time before the afternoon school run hits).

  • I am selling my piano. I can hardly believe it myself. Had it since 1983. It’s time for it to go. The boys are interested in it, but they don’t respect it. For me, it just hurts to look at it, so it must go.
  • I am still smiling from ear to ear about all the great graphic design work in my life right now. Yes please universe, I would love even more.
  • This whole phoning for home insurance quotes stuff *every* month is quite tiresome, yes, but necessary. Insurance is something we don’t need until we need it so better to have it. Plus if you phone around often enough you can usually lower your monthly cost. We’ve basically halved our costs in about 8 months by doing this.
  • I finally finished Breaking Dawn. Wow. Love it. Best book I have read in years.
  • I am getting by at night on about 5 hours sleep. Both my boys are sleeping through the night now (or at least they have been for the past week – touch wood) so the only thing keeping me up is me. I’m up till around 00h30 usually working, or god forbid having some fun on facebook/blogging/catching up on my rss reader then I sleep till around 5h30 then start all over again. As long as I have a cup of coffee in the morning, it’s going okay. If I can keep this up, I will be the most productive person ever. Heh.
  • We have applied for a new rental, but are still waiting to hear about the house. It’s walking distance from my sons school which is *perfect* fingers crossed we get it. I am *so* sick of the place we’re living in right now you  have no idea. The new house is in a secure complex as well – which frankly would feel like a huge weight off my shoulders.
  • Anyhoo, must go and fetch one of the offspring now…toodles peeps.
