Right first things first, go and select your favourite McLeods man from the poll on the right – and just thinking about them makes me feel generous, so you can select up to 3 of your favourites.

I mean, it’s just so hard to choose!

As promised, today, I’m bringing you the goods on Aaron Jeffery.

Oh boy am I bringing it.

Hands up those of you that miss your fix of Alex Ryan every week?

alex ryan

Alex riding a horse.

Alex chopping wood.

Alex fixing a fence.

Alex requiring any reason whatsoever to remove his shirt.

Alex doing anything whatsoever in front of the camera.

Aaah yes. Those were good days.

Did you know that Aaron Jeffery played a short role in the beginning of X-Men Origins: Wolverine? It’s true! In fact you can spot Myles Pollard in there too if you look *really* quickly.

So not many people know that this fine specimen of a man is actually a kiwi.

As in New Zealander, not bird.

However he made the move ‘over the ditch’ as they call it to Australia, and pursued an acting career. He was actually working in the country on a farm, when he auditioned for the part of Alex Ryan!

He liked the area that McLeods Daughters was filmed in so much, that he bought a 130yr old stone cottage near to the set (which was located near Gawler, South Australia – about an hour north of Adelaide).

Like Matt Passmore (Marcus Turner) whom we featured last week, Aaron is also a graduate of NIDA, class of 1993.

aaronjefferysansshirtThe most recent acting that I’ve seen him do (other than XMen Origins) is in a TV series set on the Gold Coast, called “The Strip” where he plays a tough, but complicated cop, but I’m hoping he cracks the ‘super big time’ so that we get to see him more regularly on the big screen (but I will take what I can get).

Lawsy knows I could do with just a scoache more of this…

Okay, clearly this was taken a while ago, but still, still nice to look at it occasionally though eh?

So if you are a diehard McLeods Daughers fan, have you bought your copy of your favourite season yet? Check out the sidebar for some special deals.

When did you start watching the series?

Did you see The Original Movie: McLeods Daughters, and if you did, what did you think of it?

If you haven’t seen any of it, or have no idea what I am talking about, then it’s probably a good place to start if you’re interested in the whole saga. At the time it was released, it quickly became the highest rated Australian ‘made for television’ movie, and it has just been released on DVD. It was written by the same writer as the creator of the television series, so well worth a look if you haven’t seen it yet.

If you are lamenting the end of the series (sniff, sniff, aren’t we all?) and are wondering what else is out there to see and enjoy, I’ve been hearing great things about Heartland, and although I haven’t seen it yet myself I am looking forward to it.

It has a couple of the ingredients that I liked about McLeods, namely great cast of real characters, horses, and wide open spaces.

The only one major difference is that it is filmed in the Canadian rockies, so no unique and beautiful Australian bushland.  I’ve been blessed enough to visit the Canadian rockies, so no insult intended, they have a very big impact on you when you are in them for the first time. Very special.  So it will be on that backdrop that the series ‘Heartland’ is either made or cancelled.

Anyway, back to the reason you’re really here!

Here is a button for you if you want to decorate your side bar to show your fan status. You can just cut and paste the code from the area below the button (make sure you get all of it if you want the button to display properly).

Thus endeth our time with Aaron for today.
I have an idea for who I’m going to feature next, but I thought I’d throw it out to you guys and ask you who you want me to feature next?

Which McLeod Daughters male cast member (that sounds naughtier than it is supposed to) do you want me to show case next?

Becareful how you answer, because it’s a totally loaded question…

No, seriously, I need to know from you guys if you can see it clearly, without broken images/stuff hanging off the edge of your screen etc etc.

Here’s the part now where you need to listen closely…if you *do* have a problem would you do me a a teensy favour?

Let me know what the problem is i.e. “hey, your content disappears  behind the sidebar, or the sidebar is off the side of my screen on the right” etc

Then let me know what size your monitor is, your screen resolution i.e. 1280 x 900 etc whatever (if you know). It’s just so that I can make it look nice for everyone mmkay?

Cool thanks!

Until I hear back from y’alls with comments, curses or kudos (I didn’t design this myself btw) I’m going to leave it as it is, so please if you see plumbers crack, workmens botty, my bewbs through my shirt, or I have parsley in my teeth, then YOU guys need to let me know okay?

And dewds (technically, dewdettes)! Go answer the poll on the right please!

Post on Aaron Jeffrey coming up next!

This Story that Started it All.

mcleodsdaughtersmovie

McLeod’s Daughters: The Original Movie, was on our digital satellite movie channel one night.

From the very beginning I was hooked.

A few months later, I saw it was being screened again, so naturally, I watched it again.

I loved the story again. The wide open spaces, the people, the country.

In the coming months I began noticing the words ‘McLeods Daughters’ being printed in our satellite TV Guide with increasing frequency until I realised that they were not screening the movie repeatedly, but had in fact made a television series out of it!

No need to ask me twice, and soon I was tuning in to watch every last bit of it that I could find. This was no mean feat, since we were getting it via the Hallmark Channel, who were screening it more than once a week, and sometimes twice a day. It was the kind of series that had myself and a group of friends (all avid fans) sms and texting one another to remind one another when it was on, or to update those who were unable to catch that days episode.

So, I was incredibly pleased, when I saw, that they are releasing the DVD of the original movie on December 8th, 2009, on Amazon.

Just in time for Christmas!! Hubby!  Hello?  Hello?? ?

(crickets)

I’m not sure *he* wants to sit through it again, but I do!

In case you are a fan of the series, but missed my post about McLeods Daughters Bloopers, here it is again. If you have always wanted to pick up a copy of the various Seasons, you may now do so through my sidebar. Enjoy!

I named my blog after the cattle/sheep station in my favourite TV show “McLeods Daughters”. So it would be remiss of me not to blog about it occasionally, even though SNIFF, it has come to and end after 8 stunning seasons.

I’m rarely on YouTube due to the insane bandwidth constraints that we have in this country, but came across the following clip of bloopers from McLeods Daughters.

For the fans, that keep finding me after faithfully typing in any of the cast and characters names into google, along with the name of the farm that I wished I lived on, this one is for you.

So you guys know how much I like the TV series, McLeods Daughters right? I’m gutted that it ended after 8 seasons, because no matter how bad the plot line got, I still watched it purely for the shots of gals going hell for leather on horseback at regular intervals, and well, it was jut a fun, gutsy series set in the great outdoors, with a few hot guys in it too, which didn’t hurt.

Drovers Run guys such as Aaron Jeffrey (who played “Alex Ryan”) who I just recently discovered, has a new gig, in series called “The Strip” which is set on the um..Gold Coast? I think it is, in Australia (of course) and where the absolutely dishy divine hunky handsome Aaron Jeffrey, plays “Jack Cross” a detective, who wears snappy suits and pulls out his gun a lot.

So, now I’m just hoping that the writers of “The Strip” find a reason to make detective Jack Cross ride or horse, or take his shirt off to chop wood.

Yes I think that would be absolutely essential to the plot line of a detective series, set on the Gold Coast. Who’s with me?

Who’s with me?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller? Bueller?

Here he is for those of you who *don’t* know who I’m talking about (rolls eyeballs emphatically) here you go…

I wish I could have found larger pictures for you to enjoy but here goes.

Tell me ladies, how could you resist a smile like that?

Consider a smile like that, looking down at you from up on a horse.

I’m swooning here at my computer just thinking about it.

Here’s a snippet that you may not have known. Aaron Jeffrey is actually a Kiwi.

A Kiwi. A New Zealander. NOT an Australian. Honestly though it doesn’t matter if he was a martian, I’d be happy to share DNA with him if he popped out of a flying saucer right in front of me (funny how aliens haven’t cottoned on to this fact, and all arrived looking like our favourite hotties…or maybe they have…peeps over shoulder).

OH MY GOODNESS, ladies, look what Ness has cooked up for you here…

Now, where did I put my magnifying glass.

Heh.

….

….

….

Phew, (picks self up off floor having fainted)

Lastly, I thought I’d show you his latest look, complete with snappy suit and gun. RAWR!

Makes you want to put up more than just your hands right?

Here, have my womb! Babies, I can make them! Ha ha, before I start to sound obsessed, you all know I’m kidding right?

But still, he is *so* nice to look at isn’t he?

If you’re interested in watching The Strip, if you don’t already have the entire McLeods Daughters DVD Collection then tune into the Series Channel (for those of you with DSTV).
