Skippy has his first play date this afternoon.
Ever.
That doesn’t involve me. (Which is why I’m blogging, and biting my nails).
With a girl…
The girls mom is absolutely lovely.
We’ve been to their house (mansion straight out of magazine) before – for the girls birthday party, so I know exactly where he is.
The mom is a firm believer in seat belts. (Thank god because too many parents around here, let their kids just ‘float’ in the car).
Her car has a dozen or so airbags and four wheel drive, so in the event of an Earthquake/unexpected Volcanic activity/an Asteroid that slams into Earth directly between our house and theirs, that might mess up the roads, she can still bring him home.
He does not have any strange allergies, that require adrenaline administered straight to the heart with a giant syringe, so whatever she gives him for lunch is just fine.
I’m pretty sure that the girls presence at Skippy’s school, (and in fact that of her elder sister at the adjacent primary school) is not simply a ruse, and that her parents are in fact NOT international ch1ld tr@ffickers.
He is a *very* smart kid and directionally *so* savvy, that even if the Earthquake/Volcano/Asteroid scenario DID happen, he would be able to find his way home using sun direction or movement of the stars (okay not really, but I’ve just made a note to teach him that at the first available opportunity).

MY BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the primal cry that escapes me every time he does something new.
My eldest!
My first born!
The first that burst forth from my loins.
(Okay, so he was scheduled, then neatly and carefully removed from my loins whilst I lay pain free, with my intestines on a table next to me, but who cares? It makes no difference to how I feel now).
Why can’t I be normal, and have my biggest worry be that he remembers to say Please and Thank You?

Now please go and answer my new poll at Photo Super Hero? Just one question, about what brand of camera you use.
Kay, Thanx, Bye.
