Avatar should have won Best Picture! Ditto Best Director! Ditto everything else it was nominated for!

The fact that it is the highest grossing movie of all time, should have said something about how amazing this movie is!

I’m really pissed about this! I mean James Cameron devotes over a decade of his life to producing the best movie ever, and well, he gets completely snubbed by the Academy!? What gives!!???

Who the heck are ‘the academy’ anyway?

I really shouldn’t be taking this so personally, but being a creative person myself, from start to finish I sat completely gobsmacked in the movie, MARVELLING at the creativity and AWE INSPIRING work that James Cameron produced (well, directed), and it sure as hell should have beaten out some piddly topical flick, made by his ex-wife! Bloody hell.

There I was looking all forward to watching the stars walk the red carpet (it’s only being screen tonight on SA TV), having dutifully applied their best acne treatment, and make-up and decided which ludicrously expensive frock to don, when I heard the jaw dropping news that Avatar only took 3 Oscars.

What does this say to the creative industries in general? Don’t bother taking it seriously enough to work on it for 14 years, because at the end of the day we’re going to give the award to a less interesting, less entertaining movie, that some people will never have heard of.

We’ll just ignore the fact that most of the population that have seen Avatar, have loved it, and well, then there was the fact that it’s made the most money of any movie EVER in HISTORY.

James Cameron, you were effing ROBBED mate.
