Weekly Winners is a Sarcastic Mom initiative!

Here are some pics that I took (a little bit longer than a week ago) of two of Simply-Mel‘s kids when we met up recently in real life.

Aren’t the kids just totally gorgeous!? This little lady, was just so cute, I just had to indulge my girly side, and had to do some photoshop wizardry and give her a pair of wings. I also bumped up the highlights in her hair to make her look overly magical – but honestly the SOOC shot was very similar.

It’s so refreshing for me to get a chance to photograph girls, as naturally I have two very rambunctious boys on whom I practice, and dealing with girls is so totally different – particularly when they’re as obliging in posing in the cutest poses as was the case with Lulu.

What a cutie.

Not to be outdone in the gorgeous stakes, ‘Lulu’s’ little brother ‘Hooligan’ was also obligingly posing for me.

Hello gorgeous. I can see many a quizzical father halting you at the front door, asking you *just* what your intentions are for their daughters…good luck my good looking little friend.

This last one, is of my Flipmeister sitting atop the hubby’s shoulders, and to be honest, it was kind of a blah everyday photo, and then I decided to crop it down differently to my normal tastes, and went to town on photoshop on it (honestly I couldn’t tell you what I did with it, but I did some serious experimentin’ y’all.

Anyhoo, I’m pleased with how it turned out. Very different style for me.

What do you guys think? (oh and I was too lazy to put my watermark on it, because, well because I was too lazy).

I cannot believe it has been a whole week since I last posted. That’s absolutely shocking. If I don’t get this damn version of wordpress fixed soon, this damn code tagging I’m having to do may well cause the early death of this blog. No, not really, not even having to hand code the formatting would put me off, although it *is* making me have to muster up more enthusiasm than normal for anything other than blank, unformatted text. Hopefully the level of frustration I’m experiencing regarding my WYSIWYG editor, is keeping my pulse up, helping weight loss as much as taking Fastinwould!

Yes, I have in fact posted these photos earlier this week, in my post where I offer them for sale as digital downloads to help raise funds for the Tygerberg Zoo, to be honest, looking after my husband (after knee surgery) and the two kids has had me too busy too shoot much. In fact I’m more likely to use my camera to beat my hubby round the head with, than shoot, but then of course I wouldn’t do that, my camera is *way* too valuable.

So here they are!

The same lion this time, from another angle. Hooray for 300mm zoom lenses, because I don’t think I’d have been getting *this* close to him in person! He was clearly the Mufasa of the pride!

Here is a beautiful white lioness. Many people are under the mistaken impression, that these are a different breed to the normal African lion (Pantera Leo) but it’s just a colour variation. Once considered a thing of great omen, and extreme rarity, they are now being successfully bred in captivity and reintroduced to the wild. Aren’t they beautiful?

Weekly Winners!

Here are some of mine, from a maternity shoot I did this week, and a horse show from just before.

Check out just how tiny this little competitor was! Sometimes I think that the smaller the competitor (and corresponding pony) the ballsier they are! They just have no concept of worry, or fear. It’s pedal to the ‘metal’ and vroom off they go! At this age, of course they have boundless energy, and can happily stuff themselves with the obligatory egg and bacon rolls and hotdogs on offer everytime there is a big meet. The rest of us can too, but should probably pop Phenphedrine to keep the weight off! Ha ha. **Snort**
